Abdelhamid HAFIDI, a PhD student in the GeM Institute who is jointly supervised at the Université de Sherbrooke, won first prize in the competition organised by the Association Béton Québec in February 2025. Abdelhamid HAFIDI's project, which focuses on predicting the behaviour of new construction materials using artificial intelligence, is part of an innovative approach aimed at improving the durability and performance of low-carbon concretes by combining machine learning techniques with the study of the rheological and mechanical properties of materials. His thesis is supervised at Centrale Nantes by Ahmed Loukili and Benoît Hilloulin (GeM) and at the Université de Sherbrooke by Ammar Yahia, as well as in collaboration with Ilhame Harbouz at the Université Polytechnique Mohammed VI. This success is also the result of an international collaboration between the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada) and Centrale Nantes. More on the GeM website
