Centrale Nantes opens a new degree apprenticeship programme in ocean engineering in partnership with ITII Pays de la Loire

The Ocean Engineering programme will open its doors in September 2025. This three-year degree apprenticeship programme is designed for future engineers wishing to specialise in the maritime field, with a particular focus on renewable energies in the marine environment and the decarbonisation of maritime transport.

The programme, which is taught in French, will provide apprentices with solid technical and managerial skills to design, build and maintain complex maritime systems in an environment where the energy transition has become crucial. In the final year, 2 specialisations will be available:

  • Decarbonisation of ships: to focus on the reduction of emissions and the sustainability of existing ships.
  • Renewable Energies in the Marine Environment: to specialise in the design of energy systems at sea.

Who can apply?

  • Holders of an BUT degree in Energy Transition and Efficiency, Physical Measurements, Materials Science and Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Maintenance, Mechanical and Production Engineering, etc.
  • Holders of an ATS or BTS related to the speciality
  • A few places are reserved for students who have passed the Concours Centrale Supélec competitive entrance exam

Applicants will be looking for a 36-month apprenticeship contract in major industrial groups, SMEs and design offices in the maritime transport and renewable energy sectors.
A large number of industrial and maritime companies have lent their support to the programme.
