Programme

  • 3 to 31 March: On board the ship La Marie Séraphique exhibition - Hall A
What role did the port of Nantes play in the emergence and development of the colonial slave system based on the Atlantic slave trade? Who were the players in this trade? What violence was experienced by the millions of men, women and children deported from Africa to the American colonies, where they were enslaved?
By retracing the course of the first human trade campaign of the ship La Marie-Séraphique, this exhibition provides keys to understanding the Atlantic slave trade and slavery.

  • 10 to 14 March: Pressions et impressions exhibition - Hall A
    Exhibition organised by l'Autre Cercle.
Pressions et impressions takes a look at homophobia based on the comic strip ‘Pressions et impressions’ in the context of a workplace situation. Using text and drawings, this exhibition offers food for thought from the situations and the comic strip ‘Pressions et impressions’ on LGBTphobia in the workplace.
  • Tuesday 11 March - 12.30 to 13.30: Screening of the documentary (in French) Étudiantes en terrain miné by Charlotte ESPEL
This documentary gives a voice to five female students and PhD students who are victims of harassment or rape, and who are fighting to ensure that such violence is no longer swept under the carpet. From the lack of action by institutions to the activism of victims, this film explores both the consequences of trauma on the human psyche and the often inadequate response of public authorities in preventing and dealing with such violence.
  • Wednesday 12 March - 12.30pm to 1.45pm: ‘ASSEZ!’ board game.
How to identify and deal with situations of LGBTphobia in the workplace? Game (in French) created by the Autre Cercle Pays de la Loire team.
The aim of this game is to present common situations of LGBTphobia in the world of work, to reflect on their consequences and to consider how they can be dealt with by calling on the key players and resource organisations likely to help resolve the problem encountered.. It will enable participants to identify and even anticipate ‘crisis’ situations.

  • Thursday 13 March - 1 pm to 2.30 pm: Breaking the taboo on menstruation
Information and awareness-raising workshop (in French) run by Règles Élémentaires.
In sport, as in society, menstruation is still a taboo subject. This awareness-raising workshop will look at: where do taboos come from? Why do they exist? How can you adapt your sporting activities to suit your menstrual cycle? And how can you broach the subject more easily with coaches? This workshop will answer these questions and give you all the tools you need to understand menstruation and prevent menstrual instability.
  • Monday 17 March: Act for Inclusion workshop
Led by Lena Cordova, Centrale Nantes graduate and patron of the incoming class of 2024
This workshop (in French) consists of having participants act out pre-written sketches lasting a few minutes (5 maximum) and containing situations of discrimination of all kinds, with the aim of making them ‘feel’ these situations and making them aware of the attitudes and behaviour that are usually discriminatory, so that they can act on them more effectively.
