This workshop is one of six activities on offer to explore Industry 4.0 and its developments, with a particular focus on women's careers.

Throughout the day, groups of 14 secondary school pupils took part in interactive sessions at the workshop, where they discovered innovative jobs in industry and heard inspiring testimony from women engineers. Two PhD students in robotics at Centrale Nantes, Charlotte Beaune and Mathilde Theunissen, shared their experiences through a video produced in collaboration with the Labo des Savoirs. The pupils watched the video, before taking a quiz designed to broaden their understanding of the issues and opportunities in this fast-changing sector.

The workshop was run by Centrale Nantes students from the Club ‘Projet d'ateliers pour une ingénierie plus égalitaire’, with the following objectives:

  • Promote diversity in industry by highlighting women's career paths.
  • Raise young people's awareness of careers in innovation and the impact of emerging technologies
  • Encourage future generations to consider careers in technical and industrial fields.

This initiative, supported by the Fondation Centrale Nantes , demonstrates the school's commitment to promoting the careers of women in engineering, communicating by example the career opportunities available to young girls in scientific fields and combating inequality.
