FORTEIM project agreement to promote maritime energy transition
on July 15, 2024
FORTEIM aims to train future professionals in the maritime sector using innovative teaching tools, including serious games, to ensure a successful ecoenergy transition.
The project focuses on the impact of training at all levels, from entry-level vocational qualifications through to PhD, to prepare ambassadors committed to this essential challenge.
By participating in the design and creation of educational tools for the project, Centrale Nantes is helping to train professionals to meet the challenges and needs of the sector.
As part of this project, the school will be participating in the development of 3D virtual reality simulation tools for ocean engineering, and more specifically offshore wind energy.
The FORTEIM project was awarded €5 million in the France 2030 ‘Skills and Professions of the Future’ call for expressions of interest, operated by the Banque des Territoires on behalf of the French government. The overall budget for the project, co-funded by its partners, is nearly €10 million over 3 years.
It brings together the best scientific experts on the multiple themes of transition, draws on educators for all the target levels, relies on specialists in educational games and tests its training courses with training organisations for all levels.
