"Girls, maths and computing day: a brilliant equation"
75 local secondary school girls are invited to meet researchers and professionals from the world of mathematics and computer science at Centrale Nantes to discuss their studies and careers.
On February 6, 2024 from 08:30 To 16:30
The aim of the day-long event at Centrale Nantes is to encourage girls to look beyond their perceptions of scientific and technical careers, not to underestimate their ambitions, and to open up the range of possible choices for scientific careers.
The 75 secondary school girls from 5 schools in the local area will be able to talk in small groups with mathematicians and computer scientists about their studies and professions, and reflect on the impact of stereotypes on their career choices and the lack of gender diversity in computing and mathematics jobs.
