Imane Elkhaldi wins the prize for best scientific contribution on concrete at the Congrès Français du Génie Civil
Imane Elkhaldi, who holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Centrale Nantes, received the award at the Congrès Français du Génie Civil, held at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay in May 2023.

Imane Elkhaldi completed her thesis on sustainable concretes at the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM), under the supervision of Professor Ahmed Loukili, and Professor Emmanuel Rozière, as part of the Centrale Nantes - Edycem Chair.
Her research work, voted Best Scientific Contribution on concrete at the French Civil Engineering Congress, focuses on the development of an indicator to characterize the carbon footprint of decarbonated concrete based on CEM II/C and CEM VI, while taking into account their durability with respect to corrosion. The overall approach taken considers the real function of concrete: its sustainability, characterized by the service life of the concrete casing. This indicator is fundamental in the current context of transition to low-carbon building materials, in response to the new environmental standard.
