This operation includes a 2 million euro equity investment from French funds Ouest Ventures III and Litto Invest managed by GO CAPITAL, and 1 million euros in loans from Bpifrance, French public bank, and private bank CIC Ouest.

Boosting Nextflow's international development

Nextflow already has strong partnerships with leading French industrial groups such as Renault, Michelin, Dassault Aviation, Airbus, and EDF. This funding round will allow Nextflow to export its software to other countries and ramp up its commercial development.

The startup set up a network of resellers in Asia and has already enjoyed its first success in Japan and South Korea with the signature of a license agreement with LG Corp in September 2020. This new financing will help Nextflow conquer new markets in Europe, North America, and continue its expansion in Asia.

Nextflow spent several years been developing innovative technology that has now reached industrial maturity and is gaining its first customers. GO CAPITAL is fulfilling its role by helping deep-tech startups with their international growth. We are proud to be supporting Nextflow’s excellent team in its new phase of development- Jérôme Guéret, General Manager of GO CAPITAL.

Broadening the fields of application of fluid dynamics simulation, by making it simpler, faster and more accurate.

Based on new Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods, Nextflow’s software has been co-developed for over 10 years by Centrale Nantes, the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the Italian National Research Council (CNR). These numerical simulation tools are revolutionary because their “meshless” nature allows them to:

  • Make simulation available to new industrial applications that were previously beyond the reach of currently available software
  • Save up to several weeks of engineering time on projects
  • In certain cases, drastically reduce computation time (up to 10 times faster than conventional CFD methods)

Nextflow provides revolutionary software for fluid dynamics simulation. We are bringing to market innovative methods that push the limits of numerical simulation and make it accessible for most designers of industrial products, systems and equipment. We are delighted by the confidence that GO CAPITAL has placed in our team and project, and we will leverage this first round of funding to reach out to all industries dealing with fluid flow - Vincent Perrier, CEO of Nextflow Software.

Nextflow currently employs around twenty engineers and PhD graduates, including some of the world's leading experts in meshless CFD methods, who have numerous international awards to their name.

The startup was created in 2015 by Erwan Jacquin, Centrale Nantes alumni with a PhD in CFD, who founded a first successful spin-off from Centrale Nantes named HydrOcean. Nextflow is hosted in the Centrale Nantes-Audencia-ensa Nantes incubator and Centrale Nantes is present in the capital through Centrale Innovation. The company is managed by Vincent Perrier, another serial entrepreneur.
