Following the 2019 elections, Nicolas MOËS, Professor at Centrale Nantes and the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (CNRS/Centrale Nantes/University of Nantes) joins the Académie des sciences.Recipient of a CNRS silver medal in 2014, of ERC funding in 2017, and the 2019 ONERA Award for Mechanical Sciences for Aeronautics and Aerospace, Professor Nicolas MOËS is also a senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France.
His areas of research include: damage, breakage, contact, extended finite elements (X-FEM), Thick level set (TLS) approach, the inequality level-set approach (ILS). He teaches the following disciplines: numerical mechanics, extended finite elements (X-FEM), configurational mechanics.
