The SIS Engineering and Systems Sciences doctoral school is one of the partners in the 5th Infrastar training week

The SIS (Engineering and Systems Sciences) Doctoral School, run by Centrale Nantes, is one of the partners of the 5th Infrastar training week (Innovation and Networking for Fatigue and Reliability Analysis of Structures - Training for Assessment of Risk), which will take place from 30 September to 3 October 2024 in Nantes.

From September 30, 2024 to October 3, 2024 All day

From September 30, 2024 to October 3, 2024 All day

The Infrastar training school aims to provide lectures and hands-on training to Master and PhD students, early-stage researchers and young professionals in order to be well aware of all aspects of asset management of civil infrastructures with respect to fatigue of materials, i.e. to put each individual work into perspective. The participants will get additional knowledge about their own field but also about what is performed beforehand and afterwards.

The courses will provide multi-disciplinary and intersectoral basic concepts in three core fields:

  • Monitoring and auscultation,
  • Structural and action models
  • Reliability, risk and decision analyses; ranging from the design to the dismantling of the structures: bridges and wind turbines.

A participant who successfully has taken part in the Infrastar training schools will be able to understand:

  • How to improve the structures and the benefits.
  • How to model structural and material behaviours of civil infrastructures under loading.
  • How to develop, perform and assess structural risks and the value of structural information.
