Admission

International students can follow this specialisation, taught in French, via:

  • A double degree programme - Open to international students selected by our partner institutions. Selected students spend two years studying courses from the engineering programme at Centrale Nantes. This usually includes one year of the common-core engineering curriculum followed by one year of specialisation. Double degree students are typically accepted after successfully completing two or three years of higher education in their home institution.
  • The fast-track engineering programme: Open to students with a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in science. Our fast-track programme gives international students who are qualified to bachelor level the opportunity to gain the 'diplôme d'ingénieur' in just two years.

Pitch your specialisation: Mohamed, Industrial Engineering specialisation

My name is Mohamed, I am 24 years old, and I am an engineering student in my 3rd year at Centrale Nantes. I'm following the Industrial Engineering specialisation, and the degree apprenticeship program with a consulting firm in Paris. I joined Centrale Nantes after having completed a bachelor's degree in fundamental physics in Rennes. I took the CASTing entrance exam, via which bachelor-qualified students can apply for the Ecoles Centrale Group.

20 seconds to pitch your specialisation:

The Industrial Engineering specialisation is fairly general. It gives students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in industry, and to have a fairly broad vision of companies, how they function, and ways to improve their performance.

3 reasons to choose this specialisation

It's a specialisation that provides a very macro view of companies, how they work and  how to optimise their performance. It's a specialisation that combines engineering and management, so it opens the door to a career in a consultancy if that's what you want. Through the industrial engineering specialisation you acquire scientific tools that can be applied to the field of industrial engineering in order to optimise company processes and performance.

Why Centrale Nantes?

Firstly, because of the school's excellence in engineering - one of the best in France. Secondly, for the vibrant associative life and student life in general at the school. And finally, for the proximity of the school to the center of Nantes. The campus is about 15 minutes from the city center, which makes life very lively and interesting.

What's next?

I'd like to continue my career in management consulting. After a few years in this profession, I would like to work within a large company. But I want to start out in consulting in order to acquire a lot of knowledge and skills across various sectors.
