MINI PORTRAIT
Originally from Saint-Quentin in Picardie, I started my engineering studies in Lille. After a year out in industry at Daher in Tarbes (8 months) and then at Technip in Scotland (3 months), I specialised in product engineering in my final year.I was a member of the theatre club and part of the team that organized the integration weekend.
YOUR CURRENT POSITION
I am an engineer in the Rigid Pipelines department at Technip in Oslo, Norway. We are responsible for subsea hydrocarbon transport networks (pipelines and structures) from design phase to installation. It is a multidisciplinary profession: design, finite element analysis, installation procedures, production monitoring and offshore campaigns on boats or platforms etc.It is rewarding and exciting. I enjoy my work in Norway. I am working on broadening my knowledge and technical skills in order to become a technical advisor, which would give me team management experience whilst retaining strong technical responsibilities.
WHAT ASPECT OF YOUR TRAINING BEST PREPARED YOU FOR YOUR CURRENT ROLE?
I use my knowledge in mechanical engineering and materials engineering in particular. I learned to work in a team, write reports and deliver presentations - essential skills in business. Most important for me: internships that prepare you for your future career.WHAT DID YOU LIKE AT CENTRALE NANTES?
The big find was the associative aspect, which is also viewed positively by prospective employers. With regard to courses, I particularly enjoyed the industrial manufacturing and 3D design courses, as well as my second-year specialisation in aeronautics.
