GEMA

GEMA is a consortium of four French graduate schools of engineering formed following the sale of 12 Shortfin Barracuda submarines, built by the French group Naval Group, to Australia. GEMA comprises:
Since its creation in January 2017 GEMA has signed MOUs with Flinders University, the University of Tasmania and most recently the University of Adelaide. GEMA’s objective is to enhance academic co-operation between the French Graduate Schools of Engineering and the Australian universities. In particular, it allows for the setting up of training and Franco-Australian research programmes, as well as technological transfers in the field of ocean and naval engineering. GEMA also aims to support funding for student scholarships.
